Just a little note on this chapter. I know that in cannon Lucius Malfoy is supposed to be 5 years Severus' senior,but for the purposeof this story I am making him one year older, along with the two Black sisters, Bellatrix and Narcissa (who are twins). I know this goes way outside of cannon and I am sorry if this bother's you. Other than the obvious changes needed in an alternate universe fiction I do try to stay close to cannon in all other regards. I hope that this one deviation will not effect your enjoyment of thischapter.
And now it's time to go......

"The Alchemist" is here!
Nov. 16th, 2007 09:46 pmWell I promised and here it is at long last!!! I'm finally giving birth to the first few chapters of my Sev/Lily fiction "The Alchemist". Alchemy is defined by Webster's as: "The power of transforming something base into something precious", and I will leave it up to you to interpret for yourselves who or what you think the alchemist is in this story. Just a short warning, this story is alternate universe, so if you like your stories 100% cannon, you probably will have a problem with this, but hey, why not give it a try. You never know, you might just like it!
I would probably rate this story teen to mature, there really isn't anything too adult or offensive in it at this point except maybe a little colorful language, but there may be more adult situations in later chapters. I will warn you when I am going to post those, however.
I have gone through alot of personal loss the last couple of years and this story definitely addresses that theme. It was sort of a cathartic way for me to move through it. I was going to wait until the whole thing was finished to post, but I have had alot of people asking for me to post it, and since it swiftly became apparent that it wasn't going to stop at 10-15 chapters, but rather stretch out to 40 or 50, I decided to start posting a chapter at the time. I will try to update regularly, as I know how frustrating it can be to have to wait long periods between updates, but I have just been promoted at work, so am also quite busy there right now. I really hope that you enjoy reading this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it!
