The Alchemist - Chapter 47

Warning:  The rating of this chapter is definitely mature for depictions of love making, sensuality, etc..  I just wanted to make sure you were properly warned.  I suppose now you know that you are about to get a taste of what you have all been waiting for.  I hope you enjoy!  Oh, and the chapter is too long for Live Journal again, so I have linked you to my fanfiction account.  If you are reading it here, and if it isn't too much to ask, I would really appreciate it if you commented here rather than at fanfiction.net.  It sounds weird, I know, but the comments go to different email accounts and I try to keep them seperate...  Rather anal I know.  Sorry about that.

Goodness, what to say?

I was very agitated in the first scene in that chapter, with Dumbledore's insistence that Severus should break off contact with Lily. I expected him to do it, but even his methods were far too manipulative for my liking. If he does expect Lily to sacrifice herself, which he's heavily hinted at, then he has no right trying to imply that her relationship with Severus is detrimental to her life. I assume he doesn't know all that much about the bond; if he thinks it's better for her if they separate? I also feel very nervous regarding Voldemort; it's going to be difficult for Severus to continue to avoid the questions regarding Lily.

As for the rest; I've been checking my email almost constantly tonight awaiting the new chapter and it most definitely was worth the wait! I thought you portrayed the whole scene between them beautifully and not once did they seem out of character. Severus' concern over her was very sweet, wanting to light the fire. I also like how you've described how the event has changed them both, now that the 'phase' in the process has been experienced; how they're closer now than they were before.

I'm glad you liked it. It was very difficult to write. That is one of the reasons that I have been sitting on this chapter for so long. It was kind of a big moment for them, and I know that lot of people had some fairly huge expectations of this chapter, which I am sure didn't help. But overall I am pleased with how it turned out.

Ah....Conjunction. :D

I thought that was very lovely. I was actually wondering when we were gonna see Voldy again. (I actually like your version of Voldy. :D) I'm still not sure what exactly the Conjunction phase was supposed to create/form between the two now. Once again, I'm dying for what comes next.

I loved it! It was worth the waiting! I really appreciated the way you pointed out how much the meetings were straining and how he wished to bath afterwards, feeling unclean! How he twisted words with Dumbledore- more threatning here than the dark lord- promising nothing in fact! His surprise to know her waiting for him till late at night (lovely)! How they felt great with each other! And the pent up emotions surfacing at last! I went through this chapter over and over again! And I would love to know what each thought about it! A master peice in fact! Can't wait for the rest!!!

You are very generous with your comments. I love that you were able to see all the underlying meanings (Severus' taking a bath because he felt so unclean after the meetings, for instance).

I had to take a little break after writing this, but hopefully I will be able to get back into writing the next chapter tonight.
